DigiM Solution LLC, Boston, Massachusetts, United States

DigiM is pronounced digi (like the first part of digital) M (like letter m). It stands for Digital Material. Each small square in the M of the DigiM logo represents one digital material application, such as digital medicine, digital mineral, digital membrane, etc.

History

DigiM was founded in 2014 by Dr. Shawn Zhang. DigiM champions the combined the power of experimental data (represented by micro-imaging) and computational physics modeling. DigiM is a recognized world leader in the science and engineering of microstructures.

2014-2020
  • DigiM maintained profitability and strong YoY growth amid the down turn of Oil & Gas industry and COVID-19 pandemic.
  • DigiM received FDA award.
Pre-2014

When Shawn was a graduate student in 1999, he participated several large scale computing projects at Rutgers University, supervised by late Dr. Norman Zabusky (who discovered Soliton), Dr. Manish Parasha (Director of Office of Advanced Cyberinfrastructure, NSF), and Dr. Deborah Silver. Fascinated by rapid evolution of computational science, Shawn lead several record setting large scale computation projects, and graduated with 13 publications in his 4 years of study, 5 in top physics journals. Frustrated by questions from his experimental colleagues, Shawn started to seek a way to combine numerical simulations with experimental data. This work leads to one of the pioneering study (Physics of Fludis, 16, 1203, 2004) in combining imaging data with computational fluid dynamics.

Industrial experiences with Fluent (now Ansys) and FEI (now ThermoFisher) further nurture the technical depth and business prequalifiers, until DigiM is incorporated.
